Giving Direction to our StudentsTeacher Education that Charts New Directions for the Next Generation

Good teachers are born with talents that make them effective. But innate ability must be developed through a rigorous program of study, practice and self-reflection. Check out our innovative and demanding program. At King’s you will experience personal contact with professors, support from a community of peers, small classes, seventeen weeks of pre-service teaching, methods courses taught by in-service master teachers and, perhaps most important of all, clarity about your vision for teaching.

If you have what it takes to become a teacher, we have the vision to show you the way!

The King's Teacher Education program blends theory, practice and reflection. It emphasizes curriculum theory and planning, learning theory, language across the curriculum, and math/science pedagogy. The program normally requires two academic years to complete and graduates are eligible to receive professional teaching certification from Alberta Education. Graduates are qualified to teach in elementary and junior/senior high school classrooms in Alberta, other Canadian provinces, the United States and overseas.

QUALIFIED PROFESSORS AND MASTER TEACHERS

Only academically-qualified professors with advanced degrees and years of professional teaching experience teach full-time in our programs. These Christian academics are complemented by sessional instructors and Master Teachers who are currently employed as classroom teachers. You will receive a very practical and up-to-date approach to teaching, supported by sound academic theory from experienced teachers.
